To say Holly Belle adores Christmas is an understatement. She’d decorate all year long if allowed. Christmas in July? She’s here for it! But, to get along with her neighbors, she limits her celebration to November through the first week of January. Isn’t that nice of her?

Living in a duplex, lights aren’t necessarily allowed anywhere high. Safety, after all. But her uncle happens to own the unit, so she can get away with more than other residents. Therefore, up go the lights as soon as Halloween is over. Snowflakes, candy canes, trees, twinkling, even a reindeer. It all makes her happy.

Even better, she gets to decorate the whole assisted living center where she works. Each resident gets their own three-foot tree to hang their personal ornaments. She takes care of wreaths, bigger trees in the main living areas, and events. It’s the perfect way for her to spread the joy of the season to as many people as possible.

If only her new neighbor understood …

Robert told her that her lights better not cross over onto his side of the duplex. He’s rather a Scrooge. How can he stand to leave that tree in the middle of the yard undecorated? Or even half-decorated? It’s uncalled for.

And she’s never been very good at staying within the lines …

She’s determined to win him over to the real spirit of Christmas, one light at a time. Will she have as much success as the ghosts in Dickens’s Christmas story?

Just over a week until you can find out!
